We are a Bay Area based full service residential architecture firm. We take on all types of residential projects from the smallest of home remodels to brand new construction of hillside luxury homes.
Headed by Karl Sherwood-Coombs and Kyu Young Kim, our office takes pride in the work we design, taking ownership of our projects.
Karl Sherwood-Coombs has been practicing architecture for over 40 years. Educated in TX as well as at Stanford, his experience and expertise in the Bay Area extends north to Sonoma County. Karl is a licensed architect in the state of California and emeritus member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).

Even the simplest project has to jump through the smallest of hoops, and this is just the beginning. Afterwards, comes finding a contractor and baring the construction phase. Our goal is to serve and simplify the entire process for our clients. We are comfortable and fluent in various design styles to meet your needs and to fit in compliance with any city's design guidelines.
We can do the architectural, interior, lighting, landscape design, energy compliance, and notification and marshal everything through the entitlement process ourselves. We will represent you at hearings at the Planning Commission, the Appeals Board, the Neighborhood Architectural Review Board or anyone else who has jurisdiction over your project.
Having been in the industry for over 40 years, we work closely with you and your builder to create a team dedicated to the same goal – the successful completion of your project – on time and within budget.
When you begin any project in this complex society of ours, you need to be confident that all the bases are covered. We do that for you.
We are also easy to talk to, so feel free to contact us if you have any architecture related questions.
