We thought this was a clever idea to get the perfect fitting sandals for your feet: Fondue Slippers! We aim to do similar, designing the perfect fit of architecture for our clients. Whether it's an office space, or your family's home, we want to design the perfect fit for you and your lifestyle.
It's about time for an update! Our very own Kyu has taken a trip to Venice for the Architecture Biennale.
I came across this video from VW that was used at a movie theater in Hong Kong to portray the dangers in using your phone while driving. As someone who has been rear-ended by someone texting, and by several other near accidents due to people who were distracted by their phones, I caution everyone to please focus on driving when behind the wheel. Please keep your eyes on the road.
We're currently working on getting the maximum value out of a "small"(-er?) sized project, but it's still a generous 900 SF. What if all you had was 200 SF? That's the design problem that MIT Media Lab students have been working on and here's a pretty neat video to demonstrate their ideas. Below is another video from several years ago about Gary Chang's small ~344 SF apartment in Hong Kong that attempts to accomplish similar transformations out of a single small space.
We watched "Sign Painters" this past weekend and give it two thumbs up. It's a great documentary on the somewhat lost art of sign painting that has a deeply rooted history in the United States of America.
Perhaps the best part is watching once more. Due to the nature of the set up of the film, you really don't bond with the painters until later on in the documentary. It's a warm re-introduction to them on the second watch and you really get to refocus on the brushmanship of the sign painters.
Another reason we love this film is the natural relevancies and indirect analogies to architecture!
And then following the student projects at 6:30pm, Rob Wellington Quigley will be delivering a speech:
